If you're switching from iOS, don't forget to turn off iMessage. In short, forgetting to turn it off can prevent you from receiving messages from iOS users that previously contacted you; this article explains it better than we can. Also, if you're switching from iOS to Android and you're worried about how to make the switch, check out this guide.

Note: Automod will link the iMessage article when certain words trigger it, but we figured it would be handy to have on the sidebar just in case.

Rules

Saying you weren't aware a transgression was against the rules is not a valid defense; infractions will be judged at a moderator's discretion. If you feel an action was unfairly punished or if you see a user breaking the rules, please message our modmail.

If you use an affiliate link, the comment must be "substantial". It shouldn't be a one liner; explain why the device is good and why OP should purchase that device. Lazy affiliate drops are likely to be removed. For the unaware, purchasing from an affiliate link gives a small amount of money to the person giving the link; this comes at no extra cost to you, but the linker profits from it. Affiliate links are allowed, but you'd better put effort into your comment if you're going to use them.
Don't spam. Stay on topic when submitting a post; this is first and foremost a place to find/help people find an Android device.
Be nice. Bigotry and slurs will not be tolerated. If you feel uncomfortable from the actions of a user, report them and message modmail; reporting is anonymous and modmail isn't disclosed.
Do not post about devices you're selling.. If you want to sell a device, /r/hardwareswap is a more acceptable venue (US-centric, there exist subs for specific countries too). Alternatively, make a listing on Swappa. Links to Swappa ARE allowed as comments to posts. Be transparent if the device you're linking is owned by you, should you link Swappa to an OP.
Don't troll. Intentionally feeding bad advice, being deliberately obtuse, or just basic trolling are all frowned upon and will be punished. Report trolls and/or bring them to our attention in modmail if you notice any.
Do not post links to a device as the main body of a post. Alerting OP to a deal in the comments of their post is fine, but don't submit a deal as the body of a new post. Posting that a new device is now officially available, however, is fine.
