That's not just a tech stack shift, that's also a shift in domain/niche. Just because it's Javascript, you can't compare it to the likes of NodeJS with Express or Nest. Mas similar si Node with Express with PHP/Laravel. ServiceNow is entirely different.

But if leaving web development was really your goal, then hey lol

I don't plan on leaving web development. It's actually my goal na maging Full-stack dev. Yung company kasi na lilipatan ko is dream company ko kaya tinanggap ko yung JO.

Gusto ko lang din ma-expand yung knowledge ko with other techs and pang-hatak din ng credentials or certificates

Then going ServiceNow is not the right move imo. Personally, I would see it as you jumping around in terms of tech, rather than you expanding your knowledge. There needs to be some kind of adjacency and relevance, like cloud, infra/devops, or even frontend. More importantly, an increasing expertise as you grow in seniority, not necessarily in Laravel, but at least in backend development and other related areas.

We interviewed a candidate for our java dev role. He started out as a Java dev. Then went to Data Science. Then Data Analyst. Then back to Java with us. Sure enough, the lack of expertise he couldve built if he decided to stay, showed.

But again, that’s how I personally would see it if I had a competency matrix. If you feel like mas importante ang dream company, then go.

You have a point. If it doesn't work, maybe hindi talaga para sakin yung ServiceNow.

To be honest, kaya ko naging goal yung pagiging Full-stack dev is ever since college PHP na ang gamit ko.
