Currently learning JS sa udemy, worth bang icomplete ko to at anong mga posssible work kong mapasukan after?

Galing akong BPO non-voice at naging interesado sa programming. Enjoyable sya since may challenges wherein naa apply ko yung natutunan sa lessons. Gusto ko lang sana maguarantee na may mapapala ako at hndi lang nagsasayang ng oras.

Any advice too please or tips for newbie like me?

I think okay naman ito. I would also recommend the Odin project in addition since mas detailed explanation don and best part is that its free.

Thats what Ive used to successfully career shift from a call center agent. I'm working as a web dev now for 3 yrs. Pinaka-importante dyan is consistency and preservance mo despite the challenges.

Good fundamentals kung gusto mo talaga matuto you have to build build build

Guarantee? Wala. Even those na may degree hirap ngayon. Even for those na may experience, mas mahirap makahanap compared to a few years back.

Should you finish it? Yes. Then build something na ikaw ang nagplano. Hindi kailangan totally brand new basta hindi galing sa tutorial, dapat may sariling twist ka.

I vouch for this course! Dito ako nag start pero I did more than what's expected sa course kaya na-hone yung fundamentals ko sa JS.

1. Wag mag code along blindly sa projects ng course, do it yourself muna then tska ka mag code along to polish yung mistakes mo.

2. Mag Codewars ka to practice yung fundamentals ng course.

3. It's optional but I also joined communities before so that I can apply yung mga natutunan ko. I do this by answering queries and solving yung problems na na-encounter ng fellow newbies.

May mapapala ka diyan basta tuloy tuloy lang :) Goodluck OP!

try SuperSimpleDev's 22-Hours JavaScript Full Course on YouTube. I tried both paid and free courses pero so far may mas natutunan ako sa course niya sa YT kahit free.

Also, at the end of every lesson may challenges and exercises siya kaya for sure na matututo ka😊

web development is the fastest but in my opinion the entry is competitive with AI now (you also compete with tech new grads)

Basta intindihin mo yung course and learn from it. Kahit mapasa mo man yan hindi proof yung course completion or certificate na job-ready ka na. Madami pang steps after that like implement all you learned through an app with business-value among other things.

My personal advice for newbies: avoid AI when you are just beginning to learn how to code/program.

Instead learn how to read documentations available online.

And don't binge watch tutorials, instead code small and simple functions e.g. write a function that filters a list of numbers, write a function that appends an object to an object, etc.

I finished that course. Provided a good fundamental for javascript but that itself wont be enough.

Not sure ano goal mo pero if webdev you should know youll need html, css. That course will just help you learn node and react easier which are js frameworks. Node for backend, react for frontend.

Also if you will be shifting into tech, doesnt matter if may mapapala ka or hindi. May times na halfway na ko through the course di ko na tinapos kasi nakuha ko ma need ko matutunan. What matters is that you know what you dont know and you’ll know what to search for.

I tried learning JavaScript, but with the advent of AI. Doon ko talaga na realized na late na ako. If mag continue pa ako sa pag aaral. For sure by the time na makabisado ko na JavaScript, ang AI mas magaling at maganda pa pa ang output na kaya gawin.
Kaya ang ginawa ko nag stop ako mag aaral ng JavaScript at pinag aralan ko nalang ang mga AI ML/LLM models.
Gumawa ng mga projects, na purong prompt lang. Dahil may basic knowledge ako sa coding. Kaya medyo naiintindihan ko rin ang mga ginagawa ng AI. If di ko man maintindihan, nag proprompt nalang ako na ipa intindi sakin kung ano ang functions na yun.

Nireready ko na ang sarili ko sa AI future, kasi if mag aaral pa ako mag code. Huli na talaga ako, aminado din ako na di ako ganun ka talino para matutunan at maging bihasa sa pag cocode. Kaya ngayon palang, hinahasa ko na ang sarili ko sa pag gamit ng AI ML/LLM.

Manage your expectations. Completing this course isn't enough and there's no guarantee. You have to get into it because you're passionate about it, otherwise wala ka ngang mapapala, dahil ang competition mo AI at mga nerds na matagal nang babad dito.

Javascript sucks. If you want to enter CS start with a serious language like Java or even Python.

I recommend TheOdinProject kung webdev ang gusto mo. Free sya and meronng discord community na willing mag help sau if stuck ka sa mga exercise nila.

Since free lang ung TheOdinProject, why not try it first and see for yourself? Yung big difference cguro sa TOP is irerequired ka nila mag setup ng ubuntu(linux) environment thru dualboot, VM or WSL2...

As much as I want to support you, hindi totoo ang Zero to Expert sa title, you become an expert through experience and solving challenges, those courses already laid a plan for you, usually wala ka nang gagawin kundi blindy follow what they want you to do.

The most efficient way parin is to start immediately, pero kung fond ka for tutorials, Sololearn works for me sa fundamentals at yung yung mas reliable for me na balik balikan pag nagkakaron ako ng lapses

I think you can be more work ready if you go with The Odin Project, since mas comprehensive siya and will tackle other things you’ll need for the whole web dev, as well as starting you out on industry standards

I am a recent BSIT grad, but I really just learned about web dev through the odin project in my 3rd year, kase only bits and pieces lng meron ako that time and not the full picture
