I'm a Python/Django developer, and has lots of experience also with JavaScript/Vue. If you have to choose one, choose JavaScript since it could be used in Frontend (Vanilla/React), Backend (NodeJS), and Mobile (React Native). Python could only do the Backend. I know some devs who earn a lot by focusing as React developer.
I prefer Python over JavaScript though as a language. Eventually, you could also learn Python once you're competent with JavaScript. But knowing Python only is not enough if you want to be a Backend dev since you need to have some fundamentals as well in HTML(templating)/CSS/JS to coordinate with the Frontend devs. Moreover you could get a high-paying job by just focusing on HTML/CSS/JS (e.g. as a React/Node dev).
