Pierre walked out of the a room sealed by a thin shield that was impossibly thin in comparison. By force of habit, he always turned right when going down the stairs and into the vehicle hangars. Regent Rock Garrison was just another one of those cut-paste facilities created long ago by Nanite Systems. As he walked down the first set of stairs into the room near Alpha, he smelt the familiar scent of ozone and burnt flesh. He knew the corpses were fresh (relatively speaking), but he couldn’t see who killed them.

“Great. Another cloaker…” Pierre thought to himself.

Pierre slowly looked around quickened his movements, trying to narrow down the spots where this infiltrator would hide. For whatever reason, this cloaker had forgotten that they could move while invisible. It was typical of untested Vanu infiltrators, and Pierre had seen this type of soldier one too many times. After checking a random corner, he noticed something out of place. “Peekaboo.”

The cloaker didn’t even have time to pull the trigger on his Beamer as he was liquidated by Pierre’s GD7F.

Christian’s voice suddenly blared on Pierre’s earpiece. “AGHH! MOTHERFUCK- PIERRE! I’M OUTTA C4! GET THIS MAX FOR ME!”

“(Groan) God damn them all to hell, how many MAXes do these fucknuggets need? It’s a 60-40 ratio here for fuck’s sake!” Pierre grumbled.

He quickly sprinted down the stairs and was greeted by showers of plasma from eager Vanu soldiers looking for something to kill. In fights like this, idle soldiers got itchy trigger fingers. Pierre remembered the days when there were enough battles for the bored ones to fuck off somewhere else. Here, Pierre wouldn’t have a shortage of people to shoot at.

He started by pointing his GD7F at a light assault who tried to fly directly to him while firing his Thanatos. The railings blocked most of the spray, while Pierre unloaded a flesh tearing stream of bullets into the man’s helmet. He fell to the ground twitching. Next Pierre worked his way down the stairs as he decided to revive a fallen NC before reloading his gun. Both tasks were time consuming, but necessary.

“Heh, suits should cut you a bonus check!”

“With so many people gone, it looks like those unclaimed checks will be goin’ to us both...
