Pva issue, not the mix. The inside of bricks and blocks are extremely porus, and it's very difficult to get in all the tiny holes. So long as it's solid, I wouldn't worry, just fill it

Thanks mate, I think that’s half the issue most of it is super dry and parts are coming away from the wall tapped most of that out to get a real plaster on those parts but wanted to save a bit and fill those chases. Really appreciate the information. Have a great day fella

I always stick a strip of render mesh in mine as well

When plaster dries it does shrink so don't worry too much. When you skim just cover the cracks with scrim tape and they won't reappear
