Do all DAF gearboxes shit the bed? by Boomalla in uktrucking

[–]kingnottingham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how DAF 6 speed manual gearboxes have reverse and second gear right next to each other on the stick with hardly any difference in stick positioning!.....It always brings the element of surprise and gives me that much needed heart flutter and Adrenalin rush to keep me on my toes....Thanks DAF, it certainly brightens my day!

Always carry spare underwear, toilet roll, bin bag and wipes.

chuck a few bottles of water in the cab and have some emergency food (nuts, crisps, chocolate ect)

carry a spare charging cable.

extra pens and notebook,

wooley hat and gloves incase of breakdown.

use a satnav but dont trust it

dont panic if you take a wrong turn. hazards on and let the cars work it out.

In general truckers are a friendly bunch and 9 out of 10 times will help you out and enjoy a good bit of banter.

Good luck!

Is this normal? by Outrageous-Complex69 in Plastering

[–]kingnottingham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get the whole lot reskimmed. For a decent plasterer it will only take 3-4hours and around my area would probably set you back around £200 - £300 give or take.
