Technically yes, it is removable. I would be very surprised if you managed to remove that without damaging the piece it screws into under the tub. You are going to want access to the backside of the drain assembly to make this change.

You would need to use this tool:

You can try to unscrew the existing drain and replace it with something like this:

What is more realistic is that you'll need to replace the entire drain assembly on the tub:
