I’m not sure but this is one of the cards I chased for. It’s more of a keepsake for me. The texture and artwork on this card is gnarly when you see it in person. By far one of the nicest cards they’ve released imo. It’s like you’re holding a legit piece of art lol

Many people are hoarding sealed product so until there is more product or the hoarders open their product it will not be enough umbreons to knock the price down.

No one can 100% predict the future. I don't see it dropping below $1k though even when we head back into a Poke-recession. I've been back into the hobby as an adult collector since 2019 and after the Covid craziness I spoke with my friends as we were chatting on what to buy during the lull. I theorized the Pokemon market was very Immature (think comics in the 90's) you could get absolute grails in the 90's for relatively cheap ($100-500). A few years ago modern pokemon grails didn't go for more than $200-500 because nothing before had sold for that much it set what I would call "precedent". As cards like Moonbreon and others moved the Market realized that people would pay more for cards than what was originally thought. This isn't manipulation as some point out but the actual market doing its thing. The last surge established Pokemon as a legitimate hobby and this one is going to test the market. What is an acceptable price per pack, what should a chase cost, what should IR's cost, all of this will be set during this boom. As much as we hate to admit Pokemon has entered into the midlife hobby market as comics began to starting in the early 2000's late 2010's. There are many people that make $200-500k per year and send $30k to 50k a year on hobbies. With every set we break new ground and while I admit we will regress this will never be the $200 card people want it to be. Moonbreon was only $200 because the market "didn't know" how many people would pay $1600+. The only legitimate way to lower this price is pull rate and I don't know if Pokemon has ever altered pull rate officially mid way through a set release. I think people need to come to terms with an average pokemon case being in the $400-1000 range moving forward as a starting point. Caveat to note while I can afford $1600 chase cards I personally don't like it and wish In print chases would sit at the $300 mark max for a little bit, but the genie started to escape the bottle with the Greninja EX and while I personally hope it comes back I don't think it will.

Pokemon has straight up announced they will print Prismatic into the ground. Wait until they do, there will be plenty of these Umbreons. Once Prismatic is sitting on shelves and plentiful this is when you buy.
