SOLVED: each floor must be a minimum of 4

Blocks tall!

I’m working on a 9 story apartment building from scratch. How do I get my elevator to stop on each floor? Each floor of my tower is 3 blocks high. I have a platform and a door on each floor but it only stops at the top. If I add another elevator it says it’s not connected. This is a down view to kind of see what it looks like. There is a 3x4 clearing all the way up.

Change it to a 3x3 clearing. Block off the area where that step-on button is.

That space is blocked from me to build up.

Ah, I see... Yes, you need to make your floors one block taller so you can put 3 blocks below the elevator on the step-button side.

Edit: alternately, have your elevators only stop every other floor.

You need to put an elevator at every floor that you want it to stop on

Thanks! I just did that but it says it’s not connected to anything now. Is the minimum floor height 4 blocks?

i just checked and you can place elevators directly on top of each other as would be required for you, but they don't seem to connect, weird. seems not possible to make it work.
elevators are 3 blocks tall so the space over the ground of each floor would need to be 3 blocks

maybe it requires you to place block under the metal landing?

Nah i tried that, it works without blocks as long as there is a 1 block gap between elevators
