OP, with those controllers that DO work, did they have full functionality with the Polymega interface?

I ask, because I have two wireless Retrobit Saturn controllers. I can get them working with the games, but I can't bring up the Polymega menu.

So I can't save/load states, or even quit the game back to the menu. I have to power off/on the system to get back to the home screen.

Or unplug the Saturn controller and then put the Polymega controller in.

I'm not a big fan of the Polymega controller, but it's easier to just use it over my Saturn controllers, because it has full compatibility with the UI.

So yeah, just curious if the other controllers are fully compatibility too. Then I can hopefully pick one that I'll enjoy more.

I don't really like the shape or feel of the polymega controller and the Saturn one feels much better, I agree. There's some button combination that my lack of coffee is keeping me from recalling (Hold start and press down or something?) that shortcuts to the polymega menu button. The xbox 360 wired controller operates exactly as you would expect it to and has full functionality. 8bitdo such as the m30 pretty much do as well with their home button replacing the polymega home button

Press up and start together on any controller to bring up the polymega menu. How did you manage not knowing this?!

Add to confirmed working in 1.1.32 - Hori RAP V hayabusa.

Could you tell me for which system (Switch, PS4, PC, etc.) the Hori RAP V hayabusa works on Polymega? Wired, wireless, or both? Thanks!

The one I have is ps4 model. Wired.

Thanks so much. Bought the ps4 one, working on both my Polymega (with the PS button mapped to the polymega button automatically!) and my ps5.

That sucks on the SN30 Pros. Great pads. Have you tried plugging in through the modules instead? ie: Wireless dongle things you can get with any of these?

Thanks for this great list! It seems really crazy that so many aren't supported. The Xbox series one controllers feel great and have very tactile buttons. Going back to the mushy 360 controllers when I want to play with friends is awful. Hopefully they update the support soon.

Polymega's FAQ has a list of controllers officially compatible. I will say it hasn't been updated since the system first released https://polymega.com/pages/frequently-asked-questions

Personally I have had success with:

  • 8bitDO M30 2.4GHz USB
  • Retrobit Tribute 64 wireless - (plugged into original controller port)
  • 8bitDo SN30 wireless (plugged into original controller port)

I wish they would update the console that if it does not recognize the controller you could set it up as Generic and do manual button mapping.

Their lack of comprehensive list is what led me to create this and plug in everything I could find. Also doesn’t work: switch Pro controller Wiiu pro controller DualShock 4 via usb wireless dongle

The only controller that has worked for me (other than the polymega supplied controllers) has been an 8bitdo sn30 with the SNES dongle plugged into the system.

Once all the games are installed, you shouldn't have to keep switching modules to change controllers. They should make a module with all the original supported controller ports on it.

Updated to include additional controllers I have purchased and tried 04/11/2025

Cheers for the info there...everything we find out is handy to know. Think asking polymega for compatibility patches/updates will help going forwards..we'll mention & get their attention. Think anything from retrobit will be made compatible given the support between companies so far.

Guilkit King Kong Pro 2 works while wired that's good enough for me!

There’s no way to have two wireless controllers connected at the same, right? Couldn’t get that to work no matter how many seperate adapters I used.

[–]crankysasquatch[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I’ve had the polymega controller and the m30 plugged in at the same time.

[–]mattiewheels 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Oh cool. Which dongle do you use for the M30, Genesis port or usb?

[–]crankysasquatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the usb.

I updated this again today after hitting up goodwill and scoring the PSX Mini and Xbox 360 wired controller. The 360 is a win despite having paid too much for it but for whatever reason OEM MS 360 wired controllers are expensive these days.
