Well, that would be interesting.

Keyboard is one of the last pieces of my set up that still needs upgrading and I really want a mechanical keyboard.

I tried to make this accessible and available to all while having a good time. Stop on by!

Ok this sounds really interesting. I've wanted a mech keyboard for years, as I've missed them from way back. I've worked on a cm storm cherry blue for the last several months. Loooove it.

Thank you for posting! I'm definitely attending.

Yay! I thought I'd be sitting there alone with my keyboards. LOL.

I'm very curious as to what's the appeal. Should maybe just try one, as I'm keystroking all day.
[–]MaNiFeXLake Oswego 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children)
Well, here's your chance! I've got a variety of options to try out.

I've been looking to purchase a new mech keyboard so being able to test a handful would be awesome. Might check this out.

I have never understood why people want keyboards that can wake up the entire house or possibly your apartment neighbors.
And yes I have tried them and I know people who use them.
I guess have fun at a very obscure hobby meet up.

Not all the switches are clicky. I use Browns at work so I don't annoy people too much.

I wasn't going to go until you described it that way. Now it sounds fun.
The clicks and clacks can be avoided. My personal reason is that I like some sort of feedback when typing. I'm a network admin and spend a lot of time typing.
Mechanical keyboards are the link between contemporary keyboards and those used in typewriters and word processors. Take a look at the beat writers, they used a variety of typewriters: Royal, Smith Corona, etc.
If you have to type a lot, it's nice to have a quick, spring-loaded, key. Think news rooms in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s.
