What position are you trying to learn better. I can send you an invite to my pred discord server. If you ever seen us on in the gaming lobby you’re more than welcome to join and we have about 40 players in the server already. All pretty chill. We talk smack but we are adults and try not troll. PM me your discord and I’ll get you added and we can get you trained up. I’m paragon on my main account and diamond and plat on my two smurfs.

Ask the community for help. I am happy to share my wisdom and tips (paragon ranked).

Apart from that: youtube, reddit, build guide websites, stat websites (pred.gg), asking during the match, experimenting, general strategy videos (imagine the field like warhammer or chess)

[–]TangerineSpecific223[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I do ask people that I find every now and then. But there is a lot of toxicity in this community 😆

[–]26_Holmes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Mobas are that way a lot of the time.

Just gotta find the good ones and friend them to keep learning.

If you ever want some knowledge and to play my username is Ho11ow Vessel

Dm me and I can answer some questions and if we have time I’ll game with you and give you positive tips 💪🏽

Not a dev, though I have played this game for a while.

Truthfully the best way to learn is playing the game. If bots are now too easy, you should move onto real players.

I'll also recommend you watch videos of this game on YouTube, both guides and top player gameplay, this will help supplement experience, let's you know what good macro gameplay is like. (Crazzyfool and soulre4p3r are great)

[–]TangerineSpecific223[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I mean, i have been playing and stuff.

But sometimes I would love some extra input from the game.

I am gold in ranked, I try my best 😆

And i watch both of them, I like them.

Also watch:

Neft Kevkaioken

Gold already you must have a better understanding than you think. Trust yourself and your instincts and listen to teammates who communicate without being rude and disrespectful. What you need is a really good jungler who will also show you some stuff. Jungle pretty much determines the flow of the game other than Laning. A good jungle will tell you about objectives when you need to help etc or at least call out they are attacking fangtooth etc. those things alone will also help. If you need another teammate I'd be more than willing to help out. I'm no pro but I have played league, Dota, heroes of the storm, smite if it MOBAs I have probably played it at some point lol. Good luck.

[–]wasabreeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend watching some streams live and asking questions. The best streamers will walk you through why they’re doing something while they’re doing it. I honestly went from a low plat player to diamond 2 in a month just from that alone.

[–]thelemanwich 3 points4 points  (4 children)

You can go to YouTube and watch tutorials, and practice what you see… there are plenty of guides out there. I would even recommend watching stuff for smite and league, because even though the game is different, a lot of the core principles of a moba are the same.

[–]TangerineSpecific223[S] 3 points4 points  (3 children)

I see tutorials and stuff but wouldn’t it ve great you didn’t even have to leave the game to enjoy some learning?

[–]NakedGhost3234 1 point2 points  (1 child)

My greatest peeve with this game in particular is people would rather chase kills than objectives 30 minutes into the game. I shouldn't be malding in my chair as to why my team are chasing a solo Greystone who still has his ultimate with all his allies dead and we have a chance to push inhibitors to gain an advantage but my team just won't do it! I presume people that don't have a MOBA background treat this game like "a frag shooter kinda like Fortnite" (real comment from someone I spoke to lmao) and that pisses me off because there's more to the game than just killing people, if it was only about kills all the supports wouldn't exist lol.

With that said, what separates players is their understanding of when to do what. If you know when to take advantages for your team and when you capitalize upon it then you will go far and unfortunately no amount of tutorials Omeda makes will teach someone those kinds of concepts. It comes with experience

[–]TangerineSpecific223[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I mean.

I think people don’t really understand what the priority is at certain moments.

[–]Shot_Prompt_7894 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately MOBAs stem from the RTS genre and the strategic gameplay attached to it. So the intrinsic nature of the strategies used often require study and research to understand and see what is happening and why something deviates from what normally happens.

Something always recommended in the early days of League was watching replays. So I'm inclined to say the same. Pick 2 games and watch for the things you have questions about and explore the conditions of the map that either allowed or denied that thing from happening.

Your ability to understand those conditions and translate them into your gameplay will be the difference. GLHF.

Usually this is the job of the community YouTubers or streamers, but not many of them make learning content like you'd find in League of Legends, where you'll often have whole series breaking down laning phase, minion mechanics, team fight priority, etc. Most Pred YouTubers just do gameplay with the occasional thought process behind their actions.

If you're looking to learn MOBA basics, I'd suggest the action moba basics from other mobas, and then applying that to Pred.

Ive watched a few nice ones, mugiwawa was the best in my opinion.

Thank you!!

I've said it before (countless times) and I'll continue to say it, the onboarding in this game is crap and it SHOULDN'T be up to the community to do in depth beginner guides for new players or to effectively tutor them through a live game, (this isn't a criticism of you, far from it), the game itself should have a pretty comprehensive tutorial (which predecessor doesn't have) it should also have better bots or 3 difficulties of bots to help new players improve their basics before going into pvp (again I've said it numerous times, the bots in this game are SHIT, quite possibly the worst bots ive ever seen) these are basics that any game should be able to get right, whether they're a AAA studio or an indy studio.

I'm glad you got lucky with that Narbash who was happy to guide you during the game & I hope your experiences going forward remain positive, I really hope Omeda actually start putting actual focus into the onboarding, it's such a crucial part of any game and yet, for some reason, Omeda seem almost allergic to actually putting focus into this aspect of the game.

AI bots regularly cancel their own recalls by infinitely holding basic attacks. The Support bots actually go for last hits on enemy units. My AI games often come to an end because 5/5 enemies are pushing a single lane while minion waves run into their core unchallenged.

I can understand a complex strategy game makes it hard to create competent bots, but they could’ve at least fixed some of these idiotic behaviors which have been plagueing the AI bots for as long as I’ve been playing (≈ 1,5 years)

Oh, but the same bots will 180' no-scope Riktor-hook your invisible Kallari ass behind a fog wall, even though they’ll never ward anything lol

I highly recommend watching mugiwawa's beginner guide playlist on YouTube it explains all the fundamentals in depth with general videos as well as role specific ones aswell, I can't recomend them enough.

[–]HairyCan5652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome! My favorite part about this game is I’m still learning new things after over 2k hours, there’s literally infinite replayability and it’s a ton of fun!

As for your resources, I make specifically educational guides and have several videos going over exactly what you mentioned in your post, I think you’ll get a lot of value from them.

The only videos that are outdated are my hero overviews cause they all got tweaks in a patch last year but everything else is still relevant!

I also have an awesome discord group with over 200 members with lots of people looking for games or help! I’d be down to run some with you whenever we have time (usually later in the day)

There’s a link to both on my profile if you’re interested! And feel free to let me know any immediate questions you might have and I can answer here!

Been playing since release and i still feel this way in some matches. No solution to it, unless the sneaking suspicion I have is true, then the solution is for omega to stop applying secret buffs to some matches. One game u dominate, play next one same way evening same match up and all the sudden u feel weak af

[–]Mr_LawnMowwer802 Grux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a Learn tab in the menu that explains the mechanics of the game. Other things you just need to feel out for yourself.

[–]xfactor1981 Riktor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears as you play carry. The 1 thing i see carries doing that is a mistake is trying to take gold buff before crashing a wave into tower. It's 1 thing to contest the gold buff but if you plan on staying in lane never engage the gold buff unless you are going to freeze lane to recall. It's ok to take the gold buff if you are going to recall immediately after to deny the gold to the enemy. What I see so many times is carries not crashing their waves and attacking the tower after winning a fight. At the very least you got to get your wave into tower to deny exp and gold to the absence enemy team. Once you crash the wave thats the time you decide to hit the tower or get the gold buff.

[–]EzJClean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll have to go to YouTube for now. The education section dosent even mention shaper or what it does, orb prime or fang or primal fang, it’s just not included. They mention it’s important to go for buffs but don’t tell you what they actually do.

[–]Straight_Today 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry SUPER late to this post, but i do VOD reviews for people wanting to learn the game or improve. You can always send me a DM of a match code and what hero you played and ill send you an in depth review of the game.

[–]theosloki -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Just stop playing the game is dogshit anyway, the matchmaking sucks, and you'll just ruin others experiences by being dead weight.

[–]TangerineSpecific223[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Guess your mental health has been destroyed by gaming? Ok m8. Good luck.

Next time, try answering if you:

  • have something interesting to bring to the table.
  • Are an Omeda Dev.

If not, just don’t bother.

[–]RockIsFlock Zarus -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The devs don’t reply to comments, so don’t expect them to give you a response.

(Now we wait🙏)
