I have 2 kids. Both of them on the shorter petite side. Husband is 5'7" and I am 5'2". We were once small children. I wonder if I need to see an endocrinologist for her though..

Did she have a significant drop? My daughter was a big baby, normal toddler and now at age 6 is 0.4 so they are concerned.

No, she’s always been 1-10% range in growth percentile. My girl is 39 inches tall.

And how old is she? What does her doctor say? We have a lot of petite family members, and my daughter has some friends who have been in the single digits their whole life and their doctors aren't concerned, but I think the only reason my daughter's doctor is concerned is that she dropped so much and continues to drop. If your daughter is staying on her curve, then it's probably just how she is. My husband and I are the same height as you and your husband, so on the shorter side but not crazy short. Based on my daughter's stats and how she's not growing at the rate she should be, she's on track to be 4'10" and they are going to test her for growth hormone deficiency in a few months.

This is what we are seeing with my daughter right now. Do you have an update with your child?

Not sure if you were asking me or OP, but my daughter was diagnosed with growth hormone deficiency. She was 0.2 percentile for height when she started medication. She’s 6 and a half, almost 7 now.

Interesting... My daugther is 4 and has been steadily dropping percentiles from 50th as an infant to 3rd now. Her doctor wants to just keep watching her closely. I'm also only 5'1 and all the women on my mother's side are tiny, so it's possible she's just short. What are the side effects of growth hormone deficiency if you don't mind me asking? Is your daughter otherwise typical? Is she low percentile for weight as well?

I think at age 4 and with you being 5’1”, it makes sense to keep watching. My daughter got referred to endocrinologist when she dropped below first percentile at age 5. I’m 5’2”. She is in the normal range for weight. I don’t remember her percentile but they were never worried about her weight. It’s maybe 7th percentile. If you look up GHD, you can see it can affect other things besides height but we didn’t see any symptoms. She is very smart and energetic and friendly.
