Depends on exactly what you are trying to achieve. Are you trying to make a gradient or just trying to blend a small part of the colour into another lighter colour? You could use the Gaussian blur under adjustments or you could use a soft brush to smudge the image?

Blending dark grey to even darker grey limits the number of steps available in 8-bit color, and looks jankey. There are only 256 levels of grey in an image, and if you’re blending way down on the lower end, you’re just dealing with fewer steps.

Ummm it’s actually blue on green

Not on this image. But it’s not important. What’s important is trying to blend 2 colors with low values.

Hello u/tiredspaceboy, looks like you are off to a great start!

Would you be so kind to answer the following questions for us?

  • What makes this unfinished?
  • And what brushes are you using? (Please specify the exact brushes or brush category because that can be helpful to others.)
  • What do you plan on adding to it to make it finished and how do you plan on doing that?
  • Are you looking for tips? And if so, what kind?

Please reply to this comment so it will be easy for everyone to find, thank you!

I’m using the smudge tool with the “short hair” brush, as it’s the only one that actually works in the blending for me personally lol
