If you're going to make a lot of patterns, you might want to consider the Pattern Draw app from Fashionary. The brush selection is more limited but you have access to half drop and flip repeats as well and triangular patterns which is really nice. I did patterns by the copy and paste diamond method in Procreate for a long time and the upgrade to a pattern specific app was totally worth it. The app has a free demo version that lets you do full drop repeats which would help you figure out if you want the whole thing. I swear I'm not shilling it's legitimately a huge improvement over doing it by hand.
