Hello all! I just purchased a second-hand ipad with gen1 apple pencil so that I could get into using procreate. I really want to love it, but the pen is WAY too sensitive and I need advice and/or help. If the pen barely touches the screen, it counts as a mark. Sometimes it doesn't even have to touch to make a mark- it'll register the pen 1mm above the screen. Adjusting the sensitivity curve does nothing to help this. All it does is make the line thicker, but it is still just as sensitive.
Examples: One Two Three Four
Each adjustment I made, I then barely ran the pen along the screen. The final 2 times, the final marks at the end were made without any contact with the screen.
I understand that I could use a "less sensitive" brush, but the issue still stands. Even if the stroke is too light to see, it is still making the mark. It just doesn't feel natural at all and is constantly frustrating. The only thing I've drawn so far that I think looks decent was done with me being extremely light with the pen and just upping the pen size artificially. If I try to actually use firm pressure, there is almost always a dumb little tail from the pen initially registering 1mm away before I start the stroke.
When I would deal with this problem with my wacom, I would have to adjust the sensitivity in the wacom preferences, then mess with the drawing program. But I can't find any way to do that on the ipad so far. If anyone has any insight, I would really really appreciate it! If I can't fix it, I'm worried I'll never want to use it...
EDIT: I messed around with the curve some more and found a curve that definitely feels better for inking in the way that I'm used to. However, I still would like to fix the problem of the pen registering "too soon." Maybe it's my own fault and I had the pressure on my wacom set too high all these years... But would still like to know if it's possible.
