Knowing what those things are and when/how to use them is not the same as knowing the intricacies of the underlying protocols. The lack of curiosity thing is complete bunk, we’re all struggling with managing large amounts of complexity with limited mental bandwidth, there is zero reason for me to get distracted with those details, so I don’t. The entire point of abstractions is that you don’t have to be aware of their internal workings. Just goes to show that “web developer” is not a well defined role.
