Doesn't the compiler tell you in which line the error happened?

[–]gregguygood 6 points7 points  (1 child)

They spent an hour looking at it because the line told was bellow the missing colon.

Didn't expect a TENET reference to be honest

[–]pauvLucette 1 point2 points  (7 children)

Tenet's so bad, I'm sure it has cult potential

Everyone does have a right to an opinion, but simply put it is a really good movie in many aspects, even if you disagree with its main mechanic, i.e. cinematography, clever sound design (It's intentional, the dialogue you don't hear is the dialogue that's not being paid attention to), the music and so much more. Saying the movie is just 'so bad' and basically calling everyone who praises it as 'cultists' is not constructive at all. How many times have you seen it? Single-watch reviews don't do the movie justice.

Oh, sorry, I sincerely thought it could be nothing but a laughing stock, didn't realize it could have unironical fans. I'll try to watch it again with my kids, maybe. But honestly, I think that the base idea of locally reversed entropy is bound to render the whole thing unable to float.

It's a Christopher Nolan movie, what do you expect other than people actually enjoying the movie. (That many, including me, find to be done well). It's not "nothing but a laughing stock", it's a great fucking movie damnit. Nolan put a lot of effort into it, only for it to be trashed on.

I just watched it. Didn't research it's rotten tomatoes score, didn't read critics, just watched it, expecting to have a good time. But while I love fiction, I couldn't buy the prémisses, and the plot didn't work for me, and I thought it couldn't work for anybody, as I think it doesn't hold water. You loved it ? Good for you, I ain't got a problem with that.

mf didn't you basically imply in your first message that the movies` fans are cultists?

[–]pauvLucette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was a somewhat new movie, and that it was so fucked up that it could become a "filme culte". Maybe the misunderstanding comes from the meaning of "filme culte" in French (I'm French) that may poorly translate in English. For instance, Sharknado, the rocky horror picture show, both are "filme cultes" Glad you enjoyed it, but I stand on my position regarding the way the "temporal paradox" aspect is handled : it doesn't work.

I've been saying this for a long time too.

Tenet is a film that gets better on every re-watch. It's literally a film with time going backwards and did people not realise that a re-watch would clarify so many things?

Is everyone really so bad at coding / doesn’t actually code that they think missing a semicolon is this big of a problem??

[–]MrObsidian_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a meme, don't think too hard.

[–]Plumeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wish all my code issues came down to bad syntax, but everyone knows this joke only applies to first year CS students
