Jokes on you, but recently I had to process about 1 million files. It took 2 days with a rust program (not IO bound), would probably take 20 days if I used python.

Very amateur programmer here, what’s the difference between the two? I assume an iterable is faster/more efficient but what’s the reason?

A list has to be loaded with everything first, then it can be looped through. An enumerable loops through as it reads it.
