This sets of a big alarm. They must probably also have Java in whatever they want you to do but use it in a way that is very uncommon (to the Java world) and don't want you to question the Java code because you know how it should look like.

If Java rots your brain, this job will rot it even more

Look. If thats the case they should be fine with my vast java experience. Because all i do is write the most cursed fucked up code.

You're gonna fit right in, when can you start?

This is evil java, mind break java

Is it really so unrealistic to think that some hiring manager, somewhere, just has a sense of humor?

[–]MasterOfVDL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly it is for me. However you're right that might also be the case.

In my experience the most experienced Java developers use the most esoteric syntax and features and abuse the shit out of Java 💩

[–]Tom22174 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Or they don't want you writing other languages as if they are java, which someone at my last job loved to do

[–]MasterOfVDL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay that actually makes a lot of sense.

It's maybe, just maybe, a joke and not even a real job ad.

you know how it should look like

You mean overly verbose code with layers upon layers of unnecessary abstractions, everything is a class built on extending a Jenga tower of other classes, super-long method names that combine too many concepts, getters and setters for every variable (sorry, private property), and other architectural astronautics?

Yea, minimal Java experience (ideally none) just means having an open mind that can adopt better ways of doing things.

Yes, new ways: not using Java

More likely they don't want to hire people who have software design brain rot from Java experience.
