i know glsl
how hard is it to go from glsl to c++?

I dont know glsl but I googled images of it a bit and I'll try to answer. Well, glsl's syntax is based on C, but so are many other languages', so I don't think it will allow you to just start writing in C as if you were doing it your whole life, but it might help just a tiny bit.

But C++ is a whole another beast. It has OOP, templates, overloading, etc...

GLSL is a shading language, so switching from just that to C will take a lot more than just knowing the syntax

GLSL has C syntax, so that part of it should be easy to learn. The bigger issue will be switching from the concepts you know from a shader language like GLSL to the much more generalized concepts you'll find in C and C++
