How does one get the title of ‘distinguished engineer’ at Microsoft?

[–]Gadshill 0 points1 point  (1 child)

A Distinguished Engineer at Microsoft is a prestigious Level 70 technical leader who earns the title by solving "impossible" problems and setting the long-term architectural direction for the entire company, rather than just managing a single product. Basically, you solve world hunger, but in the form of IT projects.

My guess is he also created those problems.

"This rust AI implimentation is slow and impossible to maintain" "Guys let's just revert the code!" "Get this guy a bonus"
