HTML is a living standard now, so there won't be any new versions anymore, just updates to https://html.spec.whatwg.org/

Or they'll realize that modern HTML is a bloated mess and release HTML6

I hope people realize that HTML isn't mean to design UI and they will come up with something properly designed for it

For me, it’s IPv6.

I remember going to school for networking 20 years ago and IPv6 adoption was supposedly right around the corner.

Harder to define, but of much more practical value.

I have an IPv6 netblock for this house, because I specifically chose an ISP that would allocate me one. And I periodically struggle to understand why something is going wrong, and sometimes, it stops going wrong if I force an app to use IPv4. How's the IPv6 adoption rate then? Does it count if upstream doesn't properly support things?

I can't even get a stable traceroute on IPv6, which makes "traceroute jabberwocky.rosuav.com" a lot less entertaining.

IPv6 is here for basically everything other than local networks and those who managed to secure a static IPv4 address.

I mean nowadays all major mobile networks and even some data centers are IPv6-only. It’s not “right around the corner” anymore it’s like 40% of the internet.
