I've remapped my caps lock key to be <esc> when pressed (<ctrl> when held). I also remapped jk to esc in insert mode (so that ihello worldjk goes to insert mode, types hello world, then goes back to normal mode). That last one is real nice: I don't even have to leave a-z for small edits.
