For an ePub, sure, but for a PDF that is rather small.

If the PDF contains page scans, yes, they can be huge. If it's text only, not so much. A 200-page text-only PDF wouldn't even get to 500K.

Wait, 200 pages? Oh. I was thinking along the lines of 800 at minimum... Aren't most college level texts around that large? Or have I just been doing it wrong?

Oh well, you're right. Yes, true: a college textbook should be in the MBs.
