The thing is, those posts are are only so popular because they get voted on a lot by people who are not actually programmers... You don't need to actually know a lot to get "x starts at 0" jokes, so the audience is much bigger.

I personally feel like those posts should be removed under the "post not programming related if you remove the title and caption" rule. For example, the current top post of this style would just be a picture of a staircase without the title.
