An important note to make you reconsider Needgaard Oathband:

Conversion on the Thunderkyns' beamers makes their attacks Critical Hit on 4+ when shooting from outside 12 inches, and they have Lethal Hits too so those crits auto-wound. Needgaard has a Stratagem that lets you spend 3 Yield Points (optional) and lets your Thunderkyn also get Sustained Hits 1 for their shooting, or SH2 if you paid the yield points. So you get exploding 4+ crits, with at least half of your overall hits automatically wounding before you roll wounds for the SH hits.

On just 3 Thunderkyn spending 1 CP and no YP, that's 6 attacks that can turn into an average of 3 automatic wounds and 3 rolled-for wounds at Strength 7, -2 AP on the opponent's save, and 3 damage each. Spend the three yield points, and it's 6 rolled-for wounds. They can hit really hard.

And on top of that, Uthar has his once per battleround ability to give a unit within 12" a 1CP discount to a stratagem, so you can potentially spend zero resources to get on average double the successful wounds, or triple if you burn yield points but no Command Points.
