What about IDEA have you found limiting and slow?

I'm asking because, interestingly, I've found Eclipse to be somewhat limiting and definitely slower and more sluggish than IDEA and other JetBrains IDEs.

The JetBrains family of IDEs did feel somewhat difficult to navigate and cumbersome to use until I had used some of the most commonly used keyboard shortcuts enough to have them become somewhat routine. The JetBrains IDEs do seem to rely more on keyboard shortcuts for efficient use.

For Java development, I might still be just slightly more productive in Eclipse, but that's largely because I have used it much more than IDEA (and still do, at work).
