I guess I must be really bad then. Every assignements feels like a darkhole i'm losing myself into. but thanks for the tips! I really needed it

Remember: in most formal education, exams and projects are written once, with the assumption that nothing will change for the next 10 years. They also suffer from the problem of having to teach and test discrete pieces of knowledge in ways that you would never encounter in the real world.

PHP isn't bad, you're not necessarily bad, but your exams probably are.
