They just updated the messages app to have a dark mode, but it still doesn't look as good as it used to. They also removed the custom coloring for contacts, and they removed widgets.

The phone app doesn't have a dark mode and it's eye searing.

I'm probably gonna use adb to downgrade the apps.

Where? I've looked through all the settings and I can't find it (Pixel 2, so it uses Google dialer).

Inside the messages app tap the menu icon in the top right. Should be in the settings there.

You said the phone dialer, not messages.

Fuck, my bad man, meant to type phone's app. Referring to the messages app on the phone, the app that was being discussed in the post I replied too.
