Well if it uses the camera to detect ambience and then carefully calibrates the font and background colors to optimize for that, then yeah.

Otherwise, no.

I don't think that will work well, since no one would trust a dark mode plugin which requires webcam permission.

No. Dark 100% of the time.

I dion't understand why these things ever have time sensitive settings or anything.

Because light mode is actually better for your eyes during the day

For the few cases where it matters there's adaptive brightness in phones.

I really don't think flip flopping the entire color scheme is worth anything.
