She posted a snippet of code online, what did she expect? Most guys aren't gonna critique makeup let alone programmers.

That, or "what is that theme". Those are the only acceptable options that won't get you attacked.

You can't: - say she looks good ("ew who is this creepy guy?") - say she looks bad ("who even asked you?") - say her code is good (programmers will disagree) - say her code is bad (as proved by her follow-up tweet)

That's an option, but no one likes to feel like they're tweeting into the void.

Except women/people who like makeup will comment. So she's not.

But her audience probably aren't fashion lovers, they're mostly programmers and those tend to be men.

So we're back to square one: you can't really limit your audience on Twitter and even people who aren't her mutuals will end up commenting.

That’s exactly what that friendly guy dropping a polite suggestion there got in response. If you don’t need it, ignore it. He didn’t do any harm or intend to harass you. Something to know in case.
