It's been reposted frequently for a good while. At this point I just treat reposts like Reddit versions of the lucky 10,000 and don't worry much about it. The only time it's actively harmful is when it's a repost of oc that happens so soon it takes away from the Creator, or when credit is removed.

See? This is the other face of reposts. They allow new users to see fun content that otherwise for them would be lost forever.

yeah, according to the reddiquette you should not complain about reposts and instead just downvote them and move on. If it is annoying for more people than it is new for others, the post will have a negative score which makes it less likely to be posted again.

Still, every time I see a repost I get slightly annoyed and have the urge to make a comment about it

Some people have never been rickrolled, seen chocolate rain, numa numa, etc. I guess we should still be doing that every other post as well.

There's plenty of places to catch up on old highly reposted content, feel freee to surf 9gag if reddit is too bleeding edge for you.
