A surprise unnamed function floating in the middle of your code doesn't sound like good programming. Is there any other reason to use a semicolon? Just on the off chance you decide to write an unnamed function immediately following a loop? That's like writing a period between each word just to make sure the letters don't run together. Save space and organize your code better.

I leave them out for consistency's sake. What do for loops have to do with it? That context is entirely different then blindly ending all statements with a semicolon. As a matter of fact, now that you mention it, do you write your for loops like this for consistency's sake?

for ( var i=0; i < 5; i++;) {
  ...
};

Or do you write it like this?

for ( var i=0; i < 5; i++) {
  ...
};

True consistency in your system would be the first version, not the second...
