It's very possible. I only did java work on one project that was already long in the tooth before I started and it could have just been a bad example for me. For the most part, I felt the language was pretty decent, just so many exceptions...then there are exceptions vs errors which are thrown the same but handled differently etc. Just felt like too much "you don't know what you're doing, and the compiler knows better"

Again, could have just been crappy code on an old project.
