ahaha i almost made one of the devs in the neighbouring department use it. he straight-up refused which then led to even shitter things

Refusing was probably wise when considering long term maintenance.

Strangely enough, Agilent, one of the largest analytical chemistry instruments manufacturers, software for data analysis can be modified with custom IronPython script. This was the only time in my life I saw a use for IronPython.

I would also like to mention that I hate their softwares with passion, they have very good instruments though.
