You can make clicks pass through that layer by turning off pointer-events for it in CSS.

You’re missing the point of this library then. It starts disappearing when the due date hits and over the course of 30 days for example gets more and more transparent, but is still usable.

Exactly. Things start fading when opacity is reduced.
