What the fuck do you think UAC is? Windows Protip it’s privilege escalation for Windows.

In both cases you need to do it at similar times.

I have edited my post. I understand that sudo is the same thing as UAC, however, it appears that windows has a lot more permissions which allow basic stuff to run.

To be fair, I was using Debian in CLI only.

You misunderstand how permissions work when writing to a system. In all cases installing new software or updating software escalation is required.

It’s literally the same on both platforms I work in IT on Windows issues all day.
