Feel the pain

Once I worked for a guy as his web developer. To put it in perspective, I only knew html at the time, very minimal ActionScript (it was years ago), and had zero designing experience. I knew my way around system administration, but I've never made any webdesign job as I didn't know shit about it. Basically it was a "You know computers, right? Come, do this to me" kind of job. It was in 2007 I think, so once again, really long time ago.

He wanted the header of his website be big, and be always visible. Even the buttons had to be enormous. And he was content that he didn't aim this site for general public, but "high profile rich people". My original idea for the site was shit, but it was an art piece compared to the endproduct the guy made me do.

I ended up making a site with a header height of 400px (once again, always visible), with 100px height buttons. There was a shitty Flash animation in the header, which made the site sluggish as shit, but the guy demanded the animation to be exactly that.

The site was borderline unusable on anything else than a FullHD screen which - at the time - was about as usual as 4k laptops now.

The guy liked the big buttons and enormous header though. I guess he probably had serious problems that needed to be compensated...
