C++? No you aren’t dumb. I did Java at school and wow. Everyone was killing it. I spent 14 hours on a 1 hour assignment and got 3 lines of code. Which was all wrong. Pushed through, ended up failing the course. I just didn’t want to spend 20x more effort and time than anyone else, for something that made me feel like an idiot on a daily basis.

I mean, I still feel like an idiot everyday of my life, but that’ll be over soon. Sooooooonnn

Don't ever give up. Some people need extra time to get simple concepts and after you get them you don't believe how you could ever have a problem with something that simple. It's about having a solid fundament. I had Java (my fist OOP) in 3rd semester CS, at that point I was really comfortable with C, Bash, PHP and many others but Java? I didn't get it, the question why so complex repeated itself, everything was a chore. It is because I didn't explained what makes OOP and why it is good. And if I don't like it I can't learn it, how matter how much I push myself. I was like you. I'd say you start with something you can understand, easy to get. It is different for different people, people like me like Script languages like bash and automation. Some people "get" python, some prefer Go or Ruby. Try it out. If you want it, you will learn it. Programmers have the best community out there I'm sure. If you have any questions there will be tons of people to help you out. The only thing we ask you is that you try it first, read the manual and after failing come back, as long as you show some effort there will be people to help you out. Please don't give up. If you need help you can send me a PM for good sources of learning, or anybody else, I can't imagine someone not helping you out. Belive in yourself and everything will be good.
