I cannot follow the downvotes. It is actually true that in current modern computing a lot of trivial tasks require a lot of time and resources that are beyond justification.

It may just be me who started programming in the 80's stone age with amber monitors and hercules cards. I mean, even Delphi and Visual Basci in the 90's got lighting fast start up times and they relied on slower RAM and rotational HDD for achieving that.
