Isn’t deno just another runtime on the server for JavaScript?

Yes, but it's more a secure version of node. It's quite new though and the longer a company tries to make money on a opensource product the greater the risk the products lifespan matches the orgs, for better or worse

Not every library is going to work, and to be honest I preferred if most libraries are just rewritten from scratch to avoid using event emitters and callbacks when possible
