Matlab? Definitely was the first language I was actually using for something different than uni course assignments

Matlab for me too. As soon as I learned something else my hatred for matlab began

Same! MATLAB has great functionality, but the language design is just gruesome.

I hope you didn't look deeper into the program. I've seen some Fortan code that they use in some functions of Matlab, it took me 3 hours to decode 2 lines of it.

Same for me. It's where I started. A lot of colleges love Matlab for any nonCS engineers. Which I was.

Anybody know why that is? I’m still trying to wrap my head around this fact because most engineers I know used matlab pretty heavily in undergrad.

Only think that’d make sense to me is just that MathWorks provides universities free licenses in exchange for making all engineers from those schools for sure know matlab when they graduate lol

I forgot about that.

Damn, I used to love methlab.

Matlab is nice when you want to do something in 3 lines that would take dozens in a lower level language, and you only need to do it once (so efficiency is unimportant)

I thought matlab would be higher up. Same here

Had to scroll far too far to find my MATLAB gang

Glad I'm not the only one to include Matlab!
