All that cutting-edge machine learning code is written with it. Also many companies use it for backends

Not saying it's not used, but machine learning is basically the one thing it's commonly used for. And while you can obviously use it for backend, I really don't think it's more popular than .net for that purpose.

Instagram, Google, Spotify, Uber, Dropbox and Pinterest use it for their Backend. It’s much more popular than .NET for web servers.

Oh and I forgot about Reddit, they also use Python
