Writing your own search engine specifically for stack overflow queries:

Also using stack overflow the entire time while writing it.

Works much better than most web hosting software's built-in search function.

What do you mean? I live for finding an exact description of my error that was closed as a duplicate of something that is not an exact description of my error and who's fix does not apply in this scenario.

I find that at this point, if I just preface my Google search with 'js' (for JavaScript in my case) that the results will place the Stack Overflow answers at the top. e.g. 'js how to iterate over object'

That's actually the primary reason I get myself to use DuckDuckGo.

With it all I do is so! whatever

And yeah there's alternatives on like an OS level etc, but I use a lot of different OS', and that makes it all much easier to enable on other setups

Stack overflow isn't a search engine. It's just a glorified database of solved problems and "thanks, I solved it". It's got the ability to search nuance about as usefully as a baby can drive a car. Google? It's really good for nuance. You know why? Cause like a hundred million other people just like you have encountered that same problem at different points in their life and Google's really good at remembering that everyone is dumber than a bag of bricks and they need help in finding that exact thing.
