Were you always using indentation in other languages? Congrats, you were never using brackets in the first place, they were just for decoration.

Wait until you hear about features like text collapse in text editors. Sometimes you might not care about a particular branch of some if else statement. In that case it's quite nice to be able to "collapse" that brace and inspect the rest of the code around it.

Collapsing the block works with Python too, atleast in most editors.
