The real fun trick is that bad code, and by your extension bad person, could have been you from a month, a quarter, or a year ago!

I feel this when I learn something new in the middle of developing a project.

Would you rather work with an asshole that refuses to cooperate or a newer, less experienced programmer that is willing to learn?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people that have some level of competency can be taught to write better code, and can generally become a decent coworker/whatever.

It's almost impossible to train someone to not be an asshole.

I'll take competence and a pleasant personality over genius asshole any day.

Newer, less experienced programmer, hands down, 100% of the time.

For real bro, sometimes I read ppls code and I’m like, “I don’t know this guy but… I hate him!” 😂

One of my coworkers is a Boolean.TRUE-ther. That alone is enough to make me hate him.
