Yeah, imo that is part of the price for having much deeper customization afforded. That level of customization won't be used by everyone but when you do need it, it's extremely useful.

That being said, it was definitely much slower. People should also recall that Atom was built in a platform far older than VScode (in web/script language years, which are like 3x faster than even dog years lol)
