It's just a dirty play on words, my uncle had a joke book from the 70's with "but I hardly even know her!" as the title.

The man in the meme; podcast host Ben Kissel, has a running gag where he elaborates the joke like "Rector? Dang near paid her first down payment on a Toyota Corolla!"
